| B for Brontosaurus: General Info
|
| Member Since | 8/2/2005 | | Band Website | bforbrontosaurus.com | | Band Members | Abe: plays drums, sings songs.
Ben: plays guitars, sings songs.
Joanna, plays bass and keyboards, sings songs.
To be fair, everyone has played some of those other instruments at times, but those are what you would call our "main instruments". | | Influences | Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, the Moldy Peaches, Beat Happening, the Unicorns, Buddy Holly, They Might Be Giants, Velvet Underground. Those are the biggies.
There are also countless indie bands and mix tape songs, and radio songs. Oh, and the Beatles. Everyone loves the Beatles, obviously, but calling the Beatles an influence is like saying you mostly just breathe air: duh. | | Sounds Like | A mix tape where every band has the same instruments and singers. | | Type of Label | Major |

| About B for Brontosaurus |
|
B for Brontosaurus is actually 3 people: Abe, Ben, and Joanna. Scrappy youngsters not long out of school, they live and play together in Somerville, Massachusetts. Abe and Ben met in College, where they played in a different rock band. Ben and Joanna have been friends since High School.
Abe, Ben, and Jo play drums, guitars, and bass+keyboards, in that order. Everybody sings! They play songs that sound like lots of different things, and are also about a variety of things. They are "surprisingly versatile for a brand new band, veering from [a] Bible-camp folk tune to a caustic girl-punk number and a couple upbeat Jonathan Richman-style singalongs within the span of their first demo," says Fluxblog.org.
"There is something that we know," B for Brontosaurus promise at the end of "The New Gang in Town," their hip new self-declaratory. But what do they know? You'll have to check it out yourself, but we can tell you this much: B for Brontosaurus hope to improve your life with their whimsical yet self-conscious pop compositions, performed with a verve and love of live that can only mean one thing: they are in a band!
Past Shows+Venues:
B for Brontosaurus have had the pleasure to play shows with Tiger Saw, the Smittens, Colin Clary, the Specific Heats, Milo Jones, the Carlisle Sound, Spoilsport, and more at venues including the Middle East, the Kirkland Cafe, PA's Lounge, the Zeitgeist Gallery, the Cambridge VFW, the Specific Heats' House, and the Town of Carlisle Bicentennial Celebration, on the very field where Ben used to go to gym class and play Little League. The fireworks were insane.
