| About Dirt Bike Annie |
|
From Wikipedia.org:
Dirt Bike Annie was a punk/power-pop band from New York City/Jersey City.
Dirt Bike Annie was led by Adam Rabuck (guitar, vocals) Dan Paquin (bass, vocals) and Jeanie Lee (guitar, vocals). All three of these members took lead singing on some songs, and had been with the group constantly since they joined. Rabuck started the group; Paquin and Lee joined for "Dirt Bike Annie 2.0" who had been together since the mid-1990s. Former Dirt Bike Annie drummers include Mike Yannich, now of The Ergs, and experimental musician Heth who during his tenure with the band was called "Dirt Bike Deano." Their most recent drummer was Tommy Vinton, from Too Much Joy.
The group fell apart during 2005, with Lee and Paquin leaving the band. Lee was first to leave, having spent 9 years with the band. Her last show with the band on May 3, 2005, with The Ergs, The Unlovables, and mc chris. Paquin left the band on June 29 of the same year, having devoted 10 years to the band. His last show was also with mc chris. Adam Rabuck later formed a group named The Impulse, while Dan Paquin joined Short Attention.
Over the years, Dirt Bike Annie had changed from a rough punk garage outfit to a more polished, but still punk-oriented, group. They were also known for having live shows with strobe lights, bubbles and Christmas lights.
They have released many albums, but many are now out of print. Currently available albums are the recent "Show Us Your Demons," "It Ain't Easy Bein' Single" (a collection of songs from out-of-print albums,) "Hit The Rock" (on Mutant Pop Records), "Night of the Living Rock and Roll Creation," "The Ellis Island Rendezvous" (a split CD with the Popsters), and "The Wedding EP" (A split CD with the Kung Fu Monkeys.)
Despite DBA's relatively underground status, almost all of the band's recorded output is available in the iTunes Music Store.
