Come on Megan, even without Hey Marseilles there are still plenty of local bands: Shabazz Palaces, Past Lives, The Lonely Forrest, Fruit Bats, Minus the Bear, The Long Winters, Telekinesis, Fresh Espresso, and if you want to stretch it you can sort of still count Band of Horses, right?
That's not even counting the greater NW bands; New Pornographers, Nurses, Yacht, Japandroids, The Mountain Goats, Quasi....I think local bands are pretty well represented.
I actually like camping out at the Gorge. It's part of the experience. I've gone all 3 days the last 2 years, and although every year I tell myself I'm not going to do it, I'll probably cave and go to at least a few days again this year too.

Josh has pretty much nailed why I'm likely to stay in Seattle that weekend: there aren't any decent hotels close (and the terrible ones in the middle of nowhere cost the same as what you could get in a 4-star hotel in a big city). I'm thinking of Pitchfork or Lollapalooza this year.
