I wouldn't say mix CD's are too disposable, I've been making mixes on CD's for myself and for friends since I was little (in the 90's). I didn't grow up with cassette's but I can imagine the nostalgia that's attached. I think muxtape doesn't work one bit. It's not transportable, you have to listen to it in front of a computer screen instead of taking a walk with your headphones.
But yeah, this site is great.
