i know this really wasn't the purpose of your post, but the title caught my eye. it wasn't until the 2000 election that people really took notice of the blue vs red & that it became nomenclature for democrat vs republican.

the networks used to switch back & forth, depending on incumbency. clinton's wins were represented by red in '92 and '96. i'm interested to see if the traditional switch holds true or the networks are resistant.
