I stopped in the Bourbon to catch the Fleet Foxes set. Never actually listened to any of their music before but they get talked up a lot around Seattle and I happened to be walking by, so whynot? Half the fun of sxsw is hearing something new as you're walking down 6th, and stopping in for a listen. Any way, they were pretty good. Pecknold seemed kind of irritable before the set, maybe because the stage lights were too bright and they wouldn't lower them for some reason. He mellowed as the set progressed and the crowd was enthusiastic.

Generally though, I prefer my indie 'roots' to be a little more energetic. Last night we saw Ha Ha Tonka, a sweet 4 piece from Missouri. Rootsy rock with great hooks. Kinda White Stripes-ish.
