While I love virtually all their albums, I prefer Ida when Karla Schickele is more actively involved in the writing and singing. Her work with Beekeeper and her two solo albums demonstrate why Ida would be an even better band with her playing a more active role. Her solo stuff, in particular, to my ears, tops all the Ida and Beekeeper albums as well as the excellent work by artists such as Low, etc. Perhaps she is planning on recording a new solo album soon - I certainly hope so. In the meantime, bring on the Ida! Great stuff!
