Hmmm...I didn't make that connection. I guess it's because I always think of Jeff Mangum as taking himself *completely* seriously, whereas PCC are clearly having a great time and enjoy having an audience. Mangum seems like he is lost in his own brilliant little world, as though the audience isn't even necessary. Good thing he's a genius, or it would be infuriating.
