people don't understand just how much of an INSTITUTION this joint is... around the world... i'll slit my wrists if it becomes anotehr 12 story Condominium... i've been to london, people ask "have you played the crocodile"... scotland "have you played the crocodile?"... anywhere on the east coast... "how's the crocodile?"
we offered PWRFL Power his first slot there on one of our bills, and he was thrilled and told me how the Crocodile shows up in Japaneze comic books, whenever a comic band comes to the states, they play "The Crocodile" in the storyline... no matter what city they go to, the club is called "the crocodile"...
the problem is, it doesn't just need a new owner, it needs "investors" to get it back into shape... but what a GREAT venue... a full kitchen... seperate live room... bar that's far enough removed it pretty much operates independently of the rest of the club...
c'mon people!!! SAVE THE CROC!!! (it was sad enough to watch it die over the past couple years... and see the crowds dwindle for GREAT bands... and lose those awesome fries not too long ago... and see one of the best sound guys on the entire west coast offer his talents to smaller and smaller rooms of folks... thanks Stephanie for all the awesome work over the years, don't fret too much, and i hope you're still inspired enough to find the right person to take over?!?!... you deserve it, and so does the entire WORLD of music... a great legacy!)
