I was at that show, at Great Woods (which is now the PLACE ADD HERE Center) in Massachusetts. After that girl caught on fire, Lady Miss Kier came out and told everyone to start clapping for the poor thing. It was Peter Pan weird, but apparently this was what the band needed for the show to go on, sans fire of any kind.
At some point Perry shared his wine with the audience, and of course Mike Watt was the best part of the night. I always wondered if that girl was okay.
The weirdest part is that this event appeared as an Arts & Entertainment question in a late-90's version of Trivial Pursuit. I once answered it for a pie!
