Braved the unbelievably miserable weather to see Interpol at the WaMu. Their playing was excellent, as expected, and the sound there is always good. Their stage presence wasn't anything extraordinary, though.
@12: The Interpol show was definitely not sold out or anything close to it. My first reaction on walking in was shock at seeing actual SEATS on the main floor, almost right up to the stage. WTF? People are expected to sit down for Interpol? Apparently some functionary decided the night before to leave them in place, because the crowd would look way too small if they were removed. Pretty stupid decision, and everyone stood up and crowded to the front anyway, as soon as the music started. There were some cursory efforts on the part of the crowd control staff to keep the aisles clear, which of course were ineffective.
@17: That Pogues show is definitely the one I'd wish I'd gone to, now. Not a superhuge fan, but it sounds like it was a great great show. Shane was surprisingly sober and lucid? Two encores because the crowd just wouldn't leave? Nice!
