I never know how to respond to the ol' "you have to be a musician to appreciate it" rant. If music can't be appreciated by non-musicians, then is it really getting its job done? I didn't say I disliked the album as such, just that compared to the work of all of the Beta Band albums (which I all loved, thank you very much ... and incidentally they put on the best concert I've ever attended), it didn't live up to what I expected. I have as much right as anyone to be disappointed with something that just doesn't have both the musical perfection and amazing pop sensibilities that the Beta Band had. Sorry I didn't agree with you on this. I'll check first next time.
