When did we stop caring?
A: When they started making subpar music.
At least for me this has nothing to do with "trendiness" or whatever, it's really the fact that HHH had really good stuff when they first started out [pre-Make Up the Break Down], then they came out with Make Up the Breakdown which was catchy and can't-listen-without-singing-along status. But...then they came out with new stuff and it was just not the same. Like Dana said, lots of bands only have one good album in them, and I'm pretty sure this was the case for Hot Hot Heat.
Plus they changed guitarists, which probably had somewhat of an effect on their sound not being as good as before.
