I've got a pretty serious mustache, but i'm pretty much flying solo these days, ticklin' the ol' ivories. Maybe I can start a sub-mustache genre; singer/songwriter-'stache? piano-stache? confessional-stache?
and math rock is a brilliant genre, it doesn't really reflect image or physical style per se; it's typically a group of musicians well-versed in theory who take pleasure in writing frighteningly intricate melodies/rhythms in non-standard time signatures. A portion of it stems from glorious prog-gods like Yes and King Crimson, but there are a multitude of other avantgarde/pop influences as well. Some math bands that pop into my mind are Slint and Don Cabellero I believe, but I could be wrong, I never got into the genre. A few people would definitely say there's some mathy influence in Minus the Bear, but that's debatable.
