I don't hate all indie. I like some indie. Lashes are more pop rock, which I also love. I used to love what was called "indie". Bands like Pavement and The Pixies had talent and melody and rocked from time to time. "Nu-Indie" like Modest Mouse and The Divorce and Bright Eyes is just simply weak music. It doesn't rock, it's boring, the vocals suck, etc...
