I just want to understand how people like these bands and why? The music is boring and repetetive. The lyrics are not memorable. There is very little melody. I think there must be some reason why this style of music seems to be popular in the Seattle area. Perhaps it's a virus that has rotted out a lot of people's brains?

I think indie is popular for the same reason that Paris Hilton is popular. She, like indie, displays absolutely no talent. Somehow, people got the idea that music that displays no talent is cool, because it's not trying to be, or something. Somehow, trying to make good music and knowing how to play your instrument have become uncool, which really sucks.
