I would be very hard-pressed to name another singer with a more sensual voice than Rachael Yamagata. She's also a very gifted songwriter who sings about love and lust and loss and everything in between.
She came onto my radar several years ago when I saw her open for Liz Phair at the Moore and I've been hooked on her music since. Yamagata's harmonies always sound authentic and emotional while packaging it into 3-minute pop songs.
I'm going to miss this show (I'm taking a trip to San Diego this morning) but I was so interested in hearing how her voice sounds through the new Crocodile PA that I was thinking of delaying my vacation a day just to go to the show. Alas, I'll have to wait for the next time Rachael Yamagata comes to Seattle, but you shouldn't.
What's on your calendar for tonight?
