Wondering who sings that song on the iSIFF commercial?

Ahh, the power of Twitter. I’ve been SIFF’ing for almost 2 weeks now, and I’ve seen that iSIFF ad from POP several times, so the song (what you doin now/I want to be there) gets stuck in my head on a regular basis. The problem? I only knew those 2 lyrics, so I Google’d the hell out of the Internet, but I could not find out who it was. As a last resort, I put out a plea to the Twitterverse:

“Will someone PLEASE tell me what the name of the song/band is in the iSIFF sifter app commercial? The internets fail me & I NEED to know!”

And, as luck would have it, someone passed that plea around, and I found out via an email to Three Imaginary Girls that the band’s name is llama, the single is called “there” – and the whole song is just as good as the excerpt!

Here’s the deets:

from their first record, llama. which is out of print. but i've posted the
entire record here if you wish to grab some MP3s. it's my band, and i wrote all the songs, so i can do this legally. :)

all of SIFF's pre-film trailers, bumpers, and ads this year have been absolutely delightful. I'm still trying to figure out the audio clips from the main trailer!

Josh: I AGREE. All I know is that the last quote from the main trailer (This is the best part of the story, and I'd hate for you miss it") is Lee Pace from "The Fall" - one of my absolute favorite movies ever. I sigh every time I hear that audio clip. :)

oh shoot! let's not do that thing where you say "form of a dolphin" and I say "form of ice" but we end up with a ice sculpture of a dolphin! those wonder twins used to get on my nerves! har har

Amie: Thanks for finding out and posting! It's been driving me crazy.

Now, I'm positive that several of the SIFF main trailer audio clips are from the Duplass Brothers' "Baghead." And I love "The Fall" but don't ever recall Roy saying that. Hmmm... time to re-watch!

YAY! i also spent much time during SIFF doing online searches, trying to figure out who did that song. i *totally* thought it sounded like rusty, but am still surprised it actually is! i was at a SIFF cinema screening tonight and enjoyed seeing the other trailers (only five months 'till SIFF '10!), but it got me thinking again about this one. thank you SO much for posting this!
