I've seen Shellac before, and man they are AMAZING. I twiddled around the house, got drunk on whisky and didn't go to one damn show.

How about those Lemonheads? Poor Evan Dando. I'm not sure what he was on or what his deal was but it was painful to watch at times. I was glad he attempted to sing and remember the words to, a bunch of the old stuff.

Shouldn't we be giving Evan Dando some credit for not oversleeping his (approx.) 11pm set this time around?

I went to the Hotels show at the High Dive for Noise for the needy Saturday night. Hotels didn't headline, Furniture Girls did, but I went for Hotels. Probably the best show I've seen from them. They seemed more energetic and loose than they did at their cd release show. They also played a few songs from their old album. Also saw "Rain" at the SIFF which was pretty good (Thanks Amie!).

How was Arcwelder @ the Shellac shows? I haven't seen them in years, well, I guess they haven't played in years. They were amazing in the day. I was a dolt and missed both shows. What the hell DID I do this weekend?

I was personally a bit underwhelmed with Arcwelder. I thought their first few songs were amazing, like a combination of Silkworm and Archers of Loaf, but then I thought it went a bit downhill from there. Other people I talked to really liked them, so maybe it just wasn't my thing.

John! I didn't realize you were "John in Ballard". :) So glad we were able to meet up after the movie - sorry if I was a little frazzled.
Also, talhotblond is playing as part of the Best of SIFF on Friday at 4:30, so you have another chance to see that one. :)

Amie,
That's good to know-I'm going to look into that. I started reading the little debate you and the others (both Chris' I think) were having the movie but then I stopped because I didn't want to ruin anything. Now I can see what all the imaginary hype is about!
