Last minute Jon Auer show added at the Triple Door on 1/17

If you were going to see Fountains of Wayne next week at the Triple Door and were thinking "you know, I really like opener Jon Auer (of The Posies) an awful lot and want to see more of him in that venue", my friends at the Triple Door heard your pleas and added another show with just Auer (who is also a friend, full disclosure) two nights later, on January 17.

The details are as such:

You're friends with Jon Auer? We saw him open for the Zombies, never having heard him, and were blown away. I love Jon Auer.

Yes, I have known Jon for several years.

I guess it's time to mention this. I really, really try to make an effort to avoid writing about people I know. In this case, the show was added late and I thought it might be of interest to some readers. When that's the case, I usually mention that I know someone and avoid any adjectives ("this guy is a genius songwriter!!"). It's not to drop names but to prevent it from being thrown in my face later. Each writer has to deal with that in one way or another and that's just how I choose to.
