the parts of the movie i've seen do seem a little dolled up for hollywood, but you have to remember that biggie's life wasn't all that gritty, anyway. with the exception of his arrest in north carolina-- and, you know, his death-- there's not much danger in his backstory. he was a semi-poor kid and an immensely talented wordsmith who just happened to become the greatest rapper in the history of the genre.
and for that last reason, i'll probably go on opening night.
