Happy Mother's Day! Anyone celebrate by seeing some shows?

I also hope you all had a chance to see some great shows this weekend. So... did you? If so, please share what you saw and heard...

Cake at the Paramount; peculiar show, with an apple tree presented to a mother of 6, and overenthusiastic organization of crowd singalongs. 1.25 hr show, $45. Eh.

I saw hoqiuam (damien jurado's new thing w/ his bro drake) at nectar on thurs night. The songs were beautiful and heavy as usual and his voice sounded familar. His brother Drake was also the resident comedian and musical icing. Worth a listen.

BOAT rocked it at the sunset on Friday night with more confetti made of the sports illustrated swim suit issue. It was a blast!

I took a couple of days off from shows (5 in 6 days last week), so the only show I saw was Kate Nash on Friday night, but I did see the new Speed Racer movie AND ran into one of my very favorite moms outside of Westlake Center this afternoon.
And I did call my mom today - but she wasn't home so I left a voice-mail.
