I can't say I'm surprised, but I did get a little thrill from this announcement in my inbox: Death Cab for Cutie latest release Narrow Stairs is the #1 release on the Billboard charts this week.
The record sold 143,586 copies in its first week out the gate, marking this as the highest sales week in Death Cab’s 10-year history. That's a lotta pudding.
TIG reviewed the record earlier this week, with mixed reviews coming in from our official writeup as well as reader's comments. You can read about it and comment yourself here, if you're feeling inclined.

Looks like someone gets the same press releases as me. I was sooo about to blog this one but ya beat me to the punch. I want to say I'm a little surprised they did so well, but that's just it, I want to; it doesn't mean I am.

I posted last week in the thread on the review that this was going to happen.
Remember when we ignored the Billboard charts around here and only cared about the British charts? I miss those days b/c the Ting Tings have the #1 single the UK right now.

Feck the charts, they're meaningless.
