{Are you at SXSW right now? Or are you like me, sadly not rocking out in Austin but eager for updates from the field? Either way, TIG is going to post an "open thread" for each day of SXSW, where show-going fans can post comments, and the rest of us can send suggestions/pleas for updates to those lucky peeps (ahem, LIZ!!) who are hooting it up Texas stylee this week. So please -- chime on in the comments section below!}
Sounds like igLiz is having an incredible time at SXSW while I'm stuck in Seattle. She saw Michael Stipe yesterday! I'm jealous, jealous, jealous. I'm so jealous, I'm wistfully persuing the Day Two schedule and planning where I would go, if I were there. Which I'm not. Did I mention I'm not there? Sigh.
Well, if I were at SXSW Day Two, this is where I'd be. {Join in the fun -- pick your imaginary schedule}:

Any updates from SXSW itself, imaginary readers???

What I want to know is how many folks got into Austin late because of SW Airlines having to ground so many planes/flights?

Great minds think alike?
Apologies for the double post above. My work computer was being stupid, and I was trying to fix a typo. Whoops!

The Weakerthans put on a super show at an absolutely packed Cedar Street Courtyard the other night. They seemed so happy to be there. And the day before, as we were getting our rental car at the airport, they were getting theirs, so we said hi. I was very glad we were able to catch their set.
The act before the Weakerthans, Man Man, was a surprise treat. I'd heard of them but not listened to their music. They came out in white tennis outfits and war paint, and proceeded to tear the place up with some very catchy Afro dance pop, with a bunch of instruments including pots and pans. Not something I would likely have ever seen except at sxsw.
