Tonight in Seattle:

New Raconteurs album ... next week (?!)

I'll make this quick because I'm off in Oregon working working working but ...

The semi-supergroup, the Raconteurs, made of Jack White and Brendan Benson among others, announced that they will be releasing their new album, Consolers of the Lonely, next week.

Yup, the band will be releasing an entire disc of new material on all formats on March 25.

Jeepers!

{Hat tip to NME for letting us know.}

I am interested to see how this all pans out. I think it's pretty cool in some ways. Just hope the record is better than the last one.

On ALL formats? Sweet! I can finally use my cylinder phonograph machine.

According to the Raconteurs website, tour dates are as follows:

4/20/08 - Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver BC
4/21/08 - Neumo's, Seattle WA
4/22/08 - Wonder Ballroom, Portland OR
4/23/08 - Bimbo's 365, San Francisco CA

better get your tickets fast!

They're going out of their way to prevent scalping (oops, I mean 'secondary market sales'), too. Two tix per purchase, will-call only, ID has to match credit card used, and once you claim your tix you have to immediately enter the venue.

Good for them!

Here's the pre-sale link for the Neumo's show, password = Consolers.

Looks like it sold out in presale (unless more tix are going to be available on Saturday). Glad I got mine at 10:05. I've never seen the White Stripes live, but this should be almost as good, maybe better, and in a small venue. I'm excited.
