If Axl needed more incentive, now he has it

Chinese Democracy.

These words stir many an emotion in Americans. Most of them wonder why it has taken so long to take hold. Others wonder why we trouble ourselves worrying about the problems of others. There are even some that think that Kentucky Fried Chicken has made the situation even worse.

Whatever you think, all we know is that Axl Rose has now spent the better part of 15 years and (gasp) $13 million in trying to make Chinese Democracy a reality.

And now, Dr. Pepper has upped the stakes. If Guns N' Roses — in whatever incarnation — can release Chinese Democracy in 2008, then they will give everyone in the U.S. a Dr. Pepper.

So, come on Axl, I'm thirsty. Get on with it!

Hat tip to NME for this news bit.

To up the stakes even further, I think Dr. Pepper should offer every resident of China a free can of pop if their country holds free and fair elections (as certified by the United Nations) before the end of 2008.
