Tonight in Seattle:

Fly Me Away

My paying day job is sending me out on a customer call this coming week to sunny Orlando, FL to help out a customer. As I'm dashing around trying to get chores and other must-do's done, my brain is starting to compile a list of flying/travelling music.

Here's what I've come up with so far....seems like there's too many to mention....

Goldfrapp - "Fly Me Away" (live in SXSW 2006....hope you're having a good time in Austin Liz!)

Sub Focus - "Airplane"

Spandau Ballet - "I'll Fly For You"

Filter - "Take a Picture" ("Away go my airplace")

Grinderman - "Honey Bee (Let's Fly to Mars)"

Foo Fighters - "Learn to Fly"

Lenny Kravitz - "Fly Away"

Tom Petty "Learning to Fly"...Steve Miller Band "Fly Like An Eagle".......Bobby Darin "Fly Me to the Moon"....RHCP "Aeroplane"...

Got any more?

I guess Leavin On A Jet Plane by John Denver is too obvious. Or too old. Or just too sappy.

How about Gonna Fly Now, the theme from Rocky? Or Eight Miles High by the Byrds?

Hey, I know - PLAY FREEBIRD!

:b

'wouldn't mama be proud?" by elliott smith. you can't tell from the title, but the lyrics make it a flying song.

andrew bird: "fiery crash"
