TIG isn't a political site by nature but we do like to dabble from time to time, and today is one of those days, because at long, long last....
We have a candidate!!!
Today Hillary finally officially stepped out of the race, and encouraged her supporters to get behind the next President of the United States, Barack Obama.
Let me repeat that phrase: The next President of the United States, Barack Obama!!!
Man, that sounds good.
Now that Obama will be up against the Republicans instead of battling Democrats, I'm going to make my contribution (and get a bumper sticker and yard sign). Here's the place to donate, if you'd like to do the same.

I'm printing a t-shirt! Go Obama!
Clinton's speech was very nice today, I think she was very sincere.

God, this has been a wild, emotional ride and it hasn't even been the presidential race. It's going to be weird to have a president I actually respect AND would go out of my way to watch/Tivo/stream his speeches.

Need I remind everyone, don't count your presidents before the hatch. The Democrats have a nifty way of grasping defeat out of the jaws of victory. I'll believe Obama is the next president when he's sworn in.

Don't think I'm not knockin' on wood about now...

Just having Obama on the ticket makes me feel a little better about being an American. I hope we can keep this energy going through to the elections!
