Tonight in Seattle:

Sweat any, I mean, see any shows this weekend?

I'm writing this blog post while sequestered in my bedroom, with my nose practically pressed up against the portable window AC that is probably doing a better job destroying what remains of our natural environment than it is actually cooling my personal one. Still, the rest of my place is a balmly 91 degrees. Yes, at 9:30pm. I live in an old brick oven, basically, and I wilt, easily.

I'm not one to go on about the weather normally (bo-ring), but c'mon. This weekend was ridiculously hot.

Speaking of hot, did anyone see any hot hot live show action? I know both imaginary ChrisB and shrie are regretting that they missed Glass Candy, so I'm sure they'd welcome any commentary from imaginary readers.

Help entertain me in my sweltering state by telling me about your show-going adventures.

I was at Glass Candy Saturday night. It was so hot in there! I was dripping with sweat and was not even dancing (for once). Everyone I know who are huge fans said that was their best show they've ever done in Seattle. It was intense yet laid-back and a wonderful thing to see the crowd move as one and become a strange self-lubricating lilting mass of humanity. Personally, I thought they were great and was very surprised how great they were despite the heat of Chop Suey.

Damn! I almost wanted to hear the opposite so I wouldn't have to feel bad about missing it.

Saw Bee Simonds with Velvet Drive and Francesca Lee last night @ The Skylark. All Three were awesome, I think Francesca was touring through, but Bee Simonds and Velvet Drive are local. Bee is kinda like what would happen if Tori Amos and Alanis Morrisette had a love child, and Velvet Drive, well anyone who can rock a cello like that, is worth a listen.
