Three heavy hitters of girl angst have records out today...
Martha Wainwright releases I Know You're Married, But I Have Feelings Too. I mean, the title kinda says it all, doesn't it? It doesn't say that she is indeed the best Wainwright as far as I am concerned, but now you know.
Haley Bonar is criminally underappreciated in my book. She along with Mary Lou Lord, defined strong feminist voices in a period kinda bereft of feminism and she continues to make really solid records. Today she releases Big Star, and not too long from now, she will be in town supporting Hayden at his June 24th gig at The Tractor -- a show I HIGHLY recommend.
Alanis Morissette. I don't think anyone can truly argue the brilliance of Jagged Little Pill, and I am hoping that this new record Flavors Of Entanglement will be a return to form. Fueled by her recent breakup with super hot Ryan Reynolds, I am sure it's at least a little bit bitter.
Fortunately for you I already ranted about Emmylou Harris earlier this week in a post about giving away a guitar signed by her magesty here, so I'll let it rest...
Boys, bands, and other girls have stuff out today too:
I am sure I missed something, so feel free to chime in with any missed releases or with your opinion on something out today!

Considering the hype, expectation, and potential for Evil Urges, I was disappointed. I have a feeling this album is going to be overrated across the board, compared to the highly deserving (albeit Grammy nominated) Sky Blue Sky that seemed to get trashed and underrated by the very same indie rock community.

I'm a big Wilco fan/supporter but Sky Blue Sky just didn't live up to any era of Wilco work in my opinion. It was still a good record, but not good in the Wilco sense.
I haven't heard the whole album, but what I've heard from Evil Urges is fantastic. Yay for Jim James, you hot mountain of man love.

The phrase "Hot mountain of man love" is exciting and creepy, just like the photo from the Easy Street bathrooms.
New Fratellis is just exciting! And yea, "Here We Stand" just released in the US today, according to the band's website. I haven't heard it yet... has anyone else?
