Tonight in Seattle:

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club trades out drummer for a sometime Raveonette

If you are a three-piece band and want to break up with your drummer, take him to dinner and feed him well. Pick up the tab. Tell him he is free to pursue his own solo career, starting tomorrow. Then tell him you love him.

If you are said drummer, you go home and write about it on the interwebs.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club drummer Nick Jago writes on the BRMC forum

"I just had dinner with Rob and Pete and, well, I'm not in the band anymore. They presented it to me like they need a break, I took it as I am fired again and to be honest with you I respect their decision. We all wanna be happy and right now we are not. Maybe playing drums for BRMC all the time is not my calling."

It doesn't look like a bad breakup, however. Band mates Peter Hayes and Robert Levon Been offer the kindest of cuts.

"It's true, Nick won't be joining us for the upcoming European tour, but it's not true that he is fired. We just feel Nick needs time to sort out exactly what he wants right now. His heart and all his energy and attention is on his own solo project and he needs to see that through. He is our brother, our musical partner, and we love him dearly and look forward to playing with him again in the future."

Already (sudden, no?) BRMC drumming is assumed by Leah Shapiro, a Dane who just finished touring with The Raveonettes

Speaking of the Raveonettes, did you hear about Sharin Foo being replaced by her sister Louise Foo for the summer? I  thought for sure it was because Sharin Foo and Sune Rose Wagner had a bad breakup -- they hardly acknowledged each other and when they played Seattle in March -- but that is not the case. Sharin is preggers. (NME

oh how I love the word preggers.

BRMC firing Nick Jago is like the Yankees firing Billy Martin - they keep doing it and keep bringing him back.

Wouldn't that be something if the Raveonettes did kick Sharin Foo out and replace her with her sister?

Hmm. Why would they replace him with her? I've seen her drum with the Raveonettes (twice) and while I love their music, her drumming is NOTHING special. Could Rob or Pete have something going on with her outside of music? No, of course not, THAT'S never happened before...

Yep, according to fans Pete's new girlfriend. This time Nick might not come back.. :(

peter's new gf? HAHAHAHAHA!
