Tonight in Seattle:

A Kraftwerk Orange, Ramones of the Day, and Jane Eyre's Addiction

Just for fun, Coudal Partners held a contest for band names mashed with book titles. Funny, punny, clever, these submissions; here's a smattering.

  • The Necronomiconway Twitty
  • Courtney Love in the Time of Cholera
  • Jane Eyre's Addiction
  • Abba Karenina
  • The Scarlet Pimpernelly Furtado
  • Into Thin Lizzy Air
  • Les Savy Fav Miserables
  • Even Cowboy Junkies Get the Blues
  • Chromeo and Juliet
  • The Chemical Brothers Karamazov
  • Ladytron Chatterley's Lover
  • Horton hears The Who

Read many, many more at Booking Bands.

"Courtney Love in the Time of Cholera" is undoubtedly the funniest thing I'll read all day. Hilarious!

Being a book and music nerd, I think I could play this game for endless hours of amusement. The first ones that popped into my head were:

* The Photo Atlas Shrugged
* Snow Patrol Falling on Cedars
* The Secret Life of Sick Bees
* Running with Scissors for Lefty
* To My Life With Thrill Kill Cult a Mockingbird

Ooh, I see an all-day work distraction here...

How about In Cold Blood Brothers? Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man Man? Native Sons and Daughters? Henderson and the Rain King Missile? The Heavy Hearts is a Lonely Hunter? The Naked and the Dead Kennedys?

I prefer "Portrait Of An Artist As a Young Man Plus".

I love Man Plus so that one is better!

Some more:

The Shaky Handmaid's Tale
Slaughterhouse Five for Fighting

Paul McCartney and Wings of the Dove
Neil Finnagin's Wake

OMG I can't believe I didn't think of "Fountainheads of Wayne" first. Damnit.
