IMAGI-BLOG

Golden ticket or not, this weekend is going to be off the hizzay.

ChrisB heads up our weekly Three Imaginary Girls column on KEXP's blog and each week he points out notable upcoming events and his recommended shows.

As I stated in today's earlier blog posts, I know that 95% of us are going to be on the East Side noshing on Sub Pop birthday cake. But, for those of us that didn't grab up tickets in time, ChrisB has stepped in to help us fill out our calendars:

  • Star Anna at the Tractor Tavern {Friday, July 11}
  • Candy Fest 2008 at the Comet and King Cobra {Saturday, July 12}
  • The Jesus and Mary Chain at the Showbox SoDo {Wednesday, July 16}

Read all about it on the KEXP blog...

I know that besides Candy Fest (which ChrisB talks about on the blog post) there's also Ballard's Art Walk (complete with vendors and happy browsing) and West Seattle's Summer Fest (chock full of cool stuff and bands to see) to fill our days.

And Jeanine found that there's some wicked awesome retro safety films being shown tonight.

And Chris Estey recommended a hot DIY fiction event at the Hugo House on Saturday night while I'll be holding down the fort at the Sunset.

Who knew that one weekend could be so popular?

What else do you have planned for this weekend?

Only a few more hours to go until things kick into high gear!

I can't believe no one is mentioning the return of The Special Places at the West Seattle thing on Saturday afternoon. I'll be there. It'll be sunny and bright, right? I think I'll be in and out. I'm not so sure about anyone else on that West Seattle fest schedule. But itsa free--------right in my budget. Can't argue with that.
