The Shins aren't as cute as they appear.
Submitted by Erik Gonzalez on January 8, 2008.Somehow I missed this yesterday, but NME reports that Marty Crandall of the Shins and his ex-girlfriend (and ex-America's Next Top Model contestant) Elyse Sewell were arrested in my backyard (Sacramento) over the weekend. They were both brought in on charges of domestic violence after starting a row at their hotel that got so bad the hotel staff had to bring in the Sac Po. Both sides of the altercation have been spinning the event, either through Sewell's blog or via Sub Pop Records (for Crandell's legal side). Not the prettiest of stories for the modern rockers...

It's too bad you missed it when it happened over the weekend, Erik, because she wrote on her LiveJournal that she was stuck in Sacramento for a few days and asked if anyone was free for a blind date.
