NME's NBTs
Submitted by Erik Gonzalez on January 21, 2008.NME has released a list of what it thinks the Next Big Things of 2008 and well, it is quite a list. Sure, its very UK-centric, but judge for yourself... here's the list with whatever YouTube link I could find. I have to admit, after listening to all of them, many of them sounds the same, but a few stand out ... what do all the TIGers think?
Black Kids ("I'm Not Going to Teach Your Boyfriend to Dance")
Foals ("Mathletics")
Friendly Fires ("Paris")
Glasvegas ("Daddy's Gone")
Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong ("Lucio Starts Fires")
Lightspeed Champion ("Galaxy of the Lost")
MGMT ("Time to Pretend")
Courteeners ("Acrylic")
The Rascals ("Out of Dreams")
The Ting Tings ("That's Not My Name")
Yo Majesty ("Club Action")
{Big assist to the Music Slut for finding the NME list}

Oh, I remember you mentioning the Black Kids ...
I think of the bunch, the Ting Tings, Lightspeed Champion and Foals are the most interesting ... so far.

Liz has also been singing the praises of Black Kids since the Athens Popfest back in August... that is a really great song! I'm excited to hear more from them.

Yeah, the Black Kids are already pretty big. I saw Lightspeed supporting Final Fantasy. They really surprised me, but then the lead singer talked really loudly over Mr. Pallet's set, so it offset any praise I had for them.

Black Kids' "I've Underestimated My Charm Again" was on my Best of '07. In case you missed it, here's that video:
