Another paper rag is giving up the ghost... The alt-rock bible, No Depression mag, will cease printing after the release of its spring issue. The publication--founded in 1995--plans to keep up their presence on the internet, though they claim the website will not 'replace' the print version of the mag.
ND blames the evolution of both the print-publication and music worlds -- a lethal combination for a niche publication like theirs.
This is especially hard news for Seattle to swallow, given that No Depression held one of their two offices here in town.

This is seriously a heartbreaker. ND has offered the best, most comprehensive coverage of Roots/Americana.Alt-Country music EVER availble, and I stand behind that.
I predict, like a pheonix from the ashes, the web-site will rise and contiinue to do the amazing work that they have been doing so well since 95.
Bummer for sure.
