Tonight in Seattle:

Blarch? Yep, Blarch.

The fine folks at Seattle Metroblogging have a blog-against-blog vote-off going on this week called -- for reasons unbeknownst to us -- Blarch Badness. TIG is honored to be nominated in the music category, alongside the KEXP blog, Lineout, Seattle Powerpop blog, and Sound on the Sound.

If you're the voting sort, why not spend Super Tuesday by casting a vote for your fave?

Here's the link...

well, Blarch Badness has a slightly better ring to it than Blebruary Badness.

Or, in honor of the day, Bluber Boozeday?

bluper buesday ftw.

(we don't completely understand it either. i wanted to call it tiger vs. blog.)

I like how all the blogs we're competing against are our friends. I'll be voting (and cheering) for TIG but won't be demanding a recount if Seattle Powerpop pulls it out. Much like how I'll be caucusing for Obama but not terribly upset if Clinton wins.

The Blarch Badness is a reference to the NCAA basketball tournament, which is called March Madness.

That reminds me of the time I went to Itchy and Scratchy land and tried to find a personalized license plate for my cousin Blanche. They didn't stock them, but were all out of Blarch plates.
