In a bit of gossip that is cute enough to make you cough up tiny marshmallow chicks wearing white studded belts in some circles, indiepop darlings Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and actress / the She in She and Him (Zooey Deschanel) are engaged to be married. It was originally and incorrectly reported (and unfortunately for him) that she was actually engaged to Hunter Bursa from AFI.
No comment has yet been made by their representatives.
It is said she was "swept off her feet" by his proposal. No date or plan has been announced to date.
Could there be a Tina Fey/Jeff Richmond-y actress/composer collaboration in the future for these two?

I am not a huge Death Cab fan, admittedly, but I like her. She and Him are really a lot of fun to listen to.
She's GOT to start making good movies again, though.
Sorry, I shouldn't have left out the fellas on this :)

And let's not forget all the guys heartbroken that Ben's taken and gals sad that Zooey is off the market.
Happiness for Ben and Zooey -- but now scores of folks are looking for a new crush. I guess all eyes on an ungirlfriended and unboyfriended leader in the crush wars.
Who will that be?
Good thing I've still got Conor - save for that quickie Winona spat, he's kept his trysts pretty quiet.

Very true- omission noted. I was just playing at a silly title, and have inadvertently been inconsiderate to all walks of life :). My bad.
Funny how as soon as they end up married or babied, it feels wrong to crush on them, no?
I distinctly remember feeling pretty sleazy for still having a crush on Colin Meloy, despite hearing a lullabye he had written for his unborn child.
Ick.

I love celebrity gossip. Did you know Brooke Hogan recently went shopping without wearing a bra? ZOMG!
