When the local legend John Spalding died last month of cancer, a foundation was set up in his name to provide some support for his wife following his passing.
Several shows have been set up to raise money for Mrs. Spalding. While some details are forthcoming, here is all of the details I know below.
Of course, I will try to keep this updated with more information as it becomes available and I'm hoping to write a feature on Spalding and his LoveLand project very soon by interviewing one of my favorite local musicians involved in the project.

OK, I do have a location for the 1/25 benefit with These Arms Are Snakes. It's at the Cha Cha Lounge.

Hey TIG,
The benefit show we are playing at The Comet is with Suffering and the Hideous Thieves to the best of my knowledge. Hope to see you there!

Thanks, Dave. I'm putting together an update ASAP about that show and the other shows as well (clarifications, additions to the bills, etc.).

New band Weekend will be playing their first show ever at the Cha Cha on Jan 25 in addition to These Arms Are Snakes & Elephant Rider. Weekend features DJ Gajamagic from Champagne Champagne & Past Lives and Ryann from Schoolyard Heroes. Should be awesome

BTW, the MxPx show is now booked for El Corazon! JANUARY 31. Hope some of you TIG peeps made it out to the Sunset show last night -- Helms Alee KICKED ASS as did the ferociously rocking opening bands Born Anchors, Patrol, and Nazca Lines.
Great seeing you there, Kyle Johnson! You rule.

I heard there was some sweet spoken word action during the Born Anchors' set last night. Care to confirm, Mr. Estey?
Did I not say above that the MxPx show was 1/31 at El Corazon?

Thanks, man!
Yeah you did -- you got the facts about El Corazon booking it before I had a chance to update it myself! That's what I call reporting!
