Tonight in Seattle:

OMFG Old 97s to play Tractor???

Fans of the Old 97s and the always dreamy Rhett Miller -- look alive! We just received a very exciting super secret email from Seattle band Downpilot (who are pretty dreamy in their own right), containing some VERY exciting news:

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Okay, here's the deal:

Your old long lost friends the Downpilots are playing our first Seattle show in over a year at the Tractor Tavern Sunday the 31st of Bumbershoot weekend, in support of a slightly suspect "Satellite Riders."

But we all know it's the Old 97s, yes?

Well now we do.

Tickets are on sale and you can bet it's gonna fill right up.

What are you waiting for??? BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW fer Rhett's sake!

OK, this might be more exciting than that whole Obama announcement thing.

Sweeties, I posted this last Friday! It was the answer to my scavegener hunt :).

Dammit! I just forked out $45 for a Bumbershoot ticket just to see them! Well, at least I get to see them twice now. Thanks for the tip.

$25? Ouch.

I didn't even realize they were playing bshoot...

25 bucks is "ouch"? Really? I'd have to disagree. Yeah, it's a club show, which generally commands a lower price. But this is a national band playing a club show. I'd say the same about any national-caliber, 'bigger' band who played a club tour. Hell, I'd actually be wiling to pay more dough to see someone huge at a small club than I would to see 'em at a big arena.

In the case of the 97's, I think their Showbox tickets were at least this much, if not more. And they played for nearly *three* hours. That's money well spent.

I just mean for the Tractor.. and the fact that they aren't even officially saying it's them.

Nevermind!

WAHHHH!!!!!!!! *sob* I would so be there if I could. $25 is very worth it to see them at the Tractor. Intimate!

Thanks so much for the heads up! Just bought tickets! They're up against Superchunk at bumbershoot and I was super bummed I was going to miss them!
