Seattle artist Christopher Stewart: Escape Control Return Home
Submitted by Andrew Boe on April 7, 2008.
Christopher Stewart is a Seattle artist who released a nine-song CD called Escape Control Return Home last year under his own label, Shitbird Records. The album is sparse, singer-songwriter disc with acoustic and electric guitars for accompaniment. His bio describes his songwriting as, "something like a Neil Young collaboration with The Eels, only produced by Brian Eno; while blending a vocal gruffness similar to Bob Dylan and a vulnerability reminiscent of Elliott Smith." Might sound strange, but it's reasonably accurate too.
He is currently recording a full length LP and plans to tour the west coast when it's finished.
Listen for yourself on his MySpace page, or catch him live on Friday, April 11th in Olympia, WA at Le Voyeur.

Wow. Thanks Andrew Boe. I didn't realize I'd actually gotten a write up here. (so, good things can come from the narcisism of self-googling, hmmm). I'd just gone on reading all the blogs on other people's music and assumed that my disc either got lost at y'all's office, or it made it straight to the round file. Thanks for giving it a listen and thanks for agreeing with what I think I sound like. heh.
I am close to finishing a full length, I hope to release it in December of 2008. It's gonna be more of a full band thing. There is one song from the sessions up on my myspace page. Check it out.
Wow. Cool. Thanks again.
