Tonight! A local show that should not be missed: Shane Tutmarc and the Traveling Mercies, PWRFL Power, Grand Hallway

Tonight's show in the lounge at the Showbox Sodo features a very impressive lineup of local talent. It features three excellent acts all led by impressive songwriters.

While I do thoroughly enjoy both PWRFL Power and Shane Tutmarc and the Traveling Mercies, the band I'm most excited about is Grand Hallway. I know of no singer that has a better voice than Tomo Nakayama. I also don't know of a more gorgeous record to be released in 2007, locally or otherwise.

As writers, our jobs are to use our words to turn people onto music. I don't know how I could describe Grand Hallway to do them justice, so just watch the video below. It's the band's video to "Seward Park":

So true, on every front! What a great lineup. And Tomo has been blessed with something I like to call, 'the divine'. His voice is just unbelievable. What's more is that it sounds just as pitch-perfect live.
