Tonight in Seattle:

The weekend's live show rundown

Anyone see any great shows this weekend? Have any shows this week you're super excited about? If so, please share!

If not, read and get a vicarious thrill from other people's show-going experiences...

Well, PWRFL POWER @ Vermillion. As all the chatty cats gazed at the mediocre art...KAZ fucked it up with his Japanese blues. Bitchin'!!
Now that I've fulfilled that portion of the bulletin come see my bands:
MONDAY OCT 29th @ the Funhouse -- THE GET OFF 9:30 $5
WEDNESDAY HALLOWEEN @ The Comet-- MISFITS cover band 9:30 $5
Peace
Leigh

I wish I could see the misfits cover band D: is that Glenn or Glennda?

I watched the Red Sox WIN THE WORLD SERIES. Enough said.

The Young Sportsmen were AWESOME at the Skylark Friday night. Such a fun & brilliant band live, I'm not sure why they aren't out touring the US & UK.

(For those not in the YS know: they clearly love playing live & their album Death To Palaces is top drawer -- great mix of the rocking guitars & powerpop tunes you can't get out of your head for days after. Unless one of quartet can't leave the state for legal reasons, that band is too good to be sitting home & not out on the road. The mashup best of Beach Boys & Ramones sound & lively stage presence would be a blast at the summer festivals.)

k drew and his bss fulfilled my life on friday night.

The New Young Pony Club was incredible! They played in Fremont at the Nectar Lounge on saturday. You could tell that they were genuinely excited about the crowd response. People (including myselfy) lost their minds when they covered Technotronics "Pump up the Jam." My friend turned to me and said "if I look at that keyboard player one more time I would be cheating on my wife." I was privileged but saddened that more people were not there to witness the New Young Pony Club's historical first show in Seattle.

mum played neumos on saturday, sans kristin anna valtysdottir. in losing her, they lost some unnameable magical quality. their new album doesn't draw me in like the others do. neither did their show.

talkdemonic was unbelievably loud, but people seemed to really really like them. eh.

the best part of the show was tom brousseau. he was all prairie goodness. and his voice was as high and lonesome as a train whistle on a dark night.

Ick, don't you hate that? I mean, when the soul behind the band leaves, what does that make the band?
