The Paul Simon Revival

Well, Paul Simon is getting some big love these days. We've had the recent cover of "You Can Call Me Al" by Jens Lekman, and now the Brooklyn Vegan as a cover of "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" as done by Peter Bjorn and John.

The article goes on to mention that PB and J has been recently performing sans John, and Peter has been performing sans Bjorn and John, so who knows what combinations they take ... I suppose they're like a Scandinavian Voltron in that respect.

(Sorry, I couldn't help it.)

if pb&j are the scandinavian voltron, who is the princess (aka constant liability) of the group?

Paul Simon is amazing, although I must say I prefer the Simon and Garfunkel stuff much better than his solo work. Bookends is one of the all time greats.

Cosby @ 1. I suppose the better Voltron to compare PB & J would be the three-robot one that defended the outer edges of the galaxy.

Oh wait, did I just admit knowing this off the top of my head. Ouch, that was a Schrute moment.

Everyone seem to hate vehicle Voltron. I suppose I didn't because that was the only Voltron toy I ever owned. What a sad child I was.

vehicle voltron was too confusing for me as a kid, there were way too many characters involved and it didn't feel like they had their own distinct mannerisms. also, a very big thing when you are a kid: the vehicle voltron toy was totally boring in comparison to the original metal voltron toy. vehicle voltron was made up of plastic space train cars that vaguely look like a robot when assembled. to me, the highlight was shooting fists - and that isn't saying much.
