.. a man in a gorilla suit walked into a bar. But not just any bar... into Bimbos, where I was hanging before the John Vanderslice show. He had balloons and a loud voice (albeit muffled, thanks to that crazy get-up he had on). I guess it was the bartender's birthday...?
It was definitely something I never thought I'd see at Bimbos. So I thought I'd share a photo, so you could all share in that special moment too.

That is all. Back to writing I go!

He didn't start playing the drums to Phil Collins, did he? I finally worked that advert out.
So what's Bimbo's and why wouldn't you expect to see a gorilla there?

Bimbo's is a hipster bar and Mexican food place where lots of rockstars work and play. It moved locations a few months back, and since I no longer live on Capitol Hill, this was my first visit to the new digs.
No Phil Collins, thankfully.

Oh. My. God. Becky. No.
I hope you're kidding. I'm usually in favor of more places for bands to play, not less, but do we need to be encouraging more people to do their reporting exclusively from their stool at the Cha Cha?
