Kurt Cobain the Scot
Submitted by Erik Gonzalez on October 30, 2007.Well, I'll be darned. NME is reporting that actor James McAvoy may get the roll of Kurt Cobain in the upcoming biopic of the Nirvana frontman. This biopic is based off the Heavier than Heaven book about Kurt by Charles Cross ... but no word on a director or such.
Anyway, for your amusement, let's compare the Scottish actor McAvoy and Senor Cobain.

I haven't seen James act, but visually, I could see how they'd cast him...
And true what randy said -- imagine if Axl Rose had died of a tragic overdose after Appetite. He'd be a hero... instead of an irrelevant joke (The Spaghetti Incident, anyone?)

They do have similar facial features... but I think it's funny that he's all dressed glam in a clean suit, while Kurt's in, well, grunge.

Why is it that rock stars who kill themselves all get movies made about their wasted lives, while those who manage to stay alive and creative, which is a hell of a lot harder to do than offing yourself, generally just fade into obscurity? Pretty fucked up priorities, imo.
