It's one week till Halloween night, and mere days till the weekend preceding Halloween. We've already started hearing about loads of Halloween parties and shows (Glen or Glenda, HalloQueen)... but we want to hear from YOU, our smartie-pants imaginary readers, about all the Halloween shows going on in town.
Post them to this blog, and when it's all done, we'll publish all the results in one long "how to optimize your Halloween celebration" article, so you know how to make the most of that sexy costume you've been working on...

Oooh this post is bring back all kindsa memories. I went as Madonna/Punky Brewster/Cyndi Lauper (a hybrid) for like 5 years in a row as a kid -- so that 80s party sounds awesome. I also dressed as Bjork once and it was the most fun ever - but I had no swan costume. Kiku, I want to see pics of that!
What to do this year? I was thinking Hermione, but I bet a certain imaginary girl may already be on that. A knocked up Hermione? Now that'd be fun to see!

Ok, first off, that "A Heavy Soul" person posted the party at Chuck Norris I'll be going to after my own show and the Mum show. I'll be getting to that party around midnight I guess! ps. that is the house where members of Thee Emergency and Red Rapture live!
But!! Before that party and all others, yours truly will be accompanying a band in an EARLY show on Saturday, starting at 5 and wrapping up at 9, just in time for you to catch all the other good things going on! The house is in the central district, give me your email if you want to attend, I'll give you the address :D

Oh I will post pictures! Yeah I'm making it :] Only, I haven't made it yet...so hopefully I'll get it finished in time!
Dana are you really going to be Hermione? Because the best costume for a pregnant lady is a nun :] Just saying...

On Saturday night I will be taking my gothed-up ass (and notepad) to the non-Halloween New Young Pony Club show at Nectar (I have a Halloween party at a friend's place beforehand) and on Wednesday I'll be at the Glenn or Glennda? show. I also think the "Come as You Aren't" show at the Skylark Cafe sounds like tons of fun, with bands being other great bands for Halloween. H is for Hellgate being Sleater-Kinney, the greatest band there ever was, sounds almost too good to pass up.

How to make your favorite bands sound like shit in three easy steps:
1) Put together a bill with 17 fucking bands.
2) Force them to learn two or three cover songs and play them in 15 minutes (or less, because you won't start on time and loser musicians always drag ass).
3) Make them hang around waiting to play for hours with nothing to do but make fun of the other bands and drink way too many Jager shots.
TADA! Mission Accomplished! A nightmare before Christmas, indeed.
PS - "tribute" shows blow, unless you're gender bending.
bah!

Whoa, there Jimmy, ease up. If I weren't gonna be doing my thang at the Re-Bar on Wednesday I'd probably be down at the Nadamucho show, cuz it looks fun and I always love to hear different bands takes on songs I like.
There's plenty of room at the Misfits tribute trough for everyone.
Good luck with the show Mr. Brown! I might totter down for a drink with y'all after we are done.
XOXOXO

this show is absolutely free and starts around 9pm. sorry, no children.
