Tonight in Seattle:

Down with Snickers, up with Butterfinger!

Save the PrimatesWe all know that some candy is better than other candy (doesn't Almond Joy count as a protein and a fruit?)... but there's some candy we should actually avoid for the good of our buddies the Primates!

As explained in full detail on the Orangutan.com website, it all comes down to palm oil and supporting the companies that don't use palm oil or use sustainable palm oil (like good corporate citizens).

Our friends at the zoo have put together a list (PDF) to help us sort through all the what for to see what kinds of candy we should be stocking up on for trick or treaters (and snacking on to meet our daily chocolate needs). Mmm... more Reeses Peanutbutter Cups please!

Sad to see Twix on the bad list, but huzzah for Caramello bars on the good list! I have a surprising soft spot for those candy bars lately...

Is a candy bar at 8:02a AOK?

I held my breath until I saw Take 5 on the sustainable list! I don't know what it is about pretzels, choclate and carmel together but it truly is mind bogglingly deee-lish-ious.

I just discoverd Goo Goo Clusters in Pittsburgh and they are pretty frickin good too, but I don't see them on any list. First I have to find out if we can even get them here (I don't recall seeing them before) and then read the ingredients for palm oil!?!? I might have to take the afternoon off to get this DONE!

Wait -- there's an M&M's Raspberry?

And cheesecake-flavored Hershey's Kisses??

(And wtf are "Yogo Rollers"?)

Jesse at number 2 - Goo Goo Clusters have been on the west coast for years, but they've all been reduced to hiding in only the most suspicious-looking gas stations.

So... Be careful.

And not gonna lie, I definitely have a soft spot for Salted Nut rolls.

Snickers is so bad, it's on the list twice.
