Toronto's Born Ruffians are on tour with Caribou (on Merge Records) and tonight they're going to stop in Seattle at Neumos.
I came across the Born Ruffian's Hummingbird EP this weekend (thanks to Erik and Betsy for introducing them to me) and fell in love with the title track. Dare I say it made me oh-oh outloud?
You can go to their MySpace and hear all of the tracks from the EP -- and if your headed to the show (and vinyly inclined) you can pick up the 7" version of the release (it's not available in stores). Or if you want more bang for your buck, you could opt for the CD or digital version of the release, it comes with a bonus track: a cover of Grizzly Bear's "Knife."

I find it odd that Caribou is touring with Born Ruffians. Odd combo.

Yea - aren't Caribou a bit sedate... and Born Ruffians seem like they'd be high strung live. Has anyone seen Born Ruffians live?

word on the street is that caribou kill it live. that is if you like two drummers, psychedelic freakouts, and strobe lights.

OK - if they've got strobe lights and freakouts - they'll likely go along nicely with those Ruffians.
