The SF Noise Pop folks announce Magnetic Fields and Mountain Goats confirmed for 2008 fest

The swank Noise Pop festival has started to announce it's line up (only a few names at a time, of course)... and thus far they've confirmed our suspicions.

The Magnetic Fields and the Mountain Goats, along with fellow notables Cursive, and a new Greg Dulli/Mark Lanegan project titled The Gutter Twins will be making appearances and wowing indie-rock masses in San Francisco.

The festival will be from February 26 to March 2 and will take over "the best-loved venues in San Francisco" with six nights chock full of indie royalty.

They've promised a bunch of more Noise Pop 2008 announcements when the festival website launches in early December... including early details on the return of the Noise Pop Expo, film festival and the 2008 program of Noise Pop gallery art shows.

Depending upon how the schedule firms up, maybe I'll NoisePop it rather than SXSW it? Who knows... the festival season is young!

I bet Throw Me the Statue roadtrips on down to SF for this one. I'd love to see Los Campesinos there, but am not gonna hold my breath for that one...

This is a brilliant pairing...genius would be adding Isaac Brocke (Modest Mouse)...absolute genius would be throwing in The American Analog Set....ahh, one can dream...but this concert is a definite.
